Message from the Director of IC Clinic Ikebukuro
In response to feedback from patients at IC Clinic Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Ueno, we opened IC Clinic Ikebukuro in March 2020, situated steps from Ikebukuro Station. Our aim is to provide insurance-covered, same-day outpatient plastic surgery to patients who find Ikebukuro easily accessible via the JR lines and other rail services.
As with IC Clinic Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Ueno, our team-based care is led by board-certified plastic surgeons and supervising physicians certified by the Japan Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. We strive to minimize scarring and keep patient discomfort as low as possible throughout treatment. We are open every day, including weekends and public holidays.
Director, IC Clinic Ikebukuro Haruka Suzuki, M.D.

Experience at University Hospitals and General Hospitals
After graduating, I sought to develop broad expertise in plastic surgery and undertook further training in Nagasaki Prefecture, which has a long tradition in the field. Throughout that time, I cared for a wide range of patients, including those requiring emergency surgery for extensive burns and traumatic injuries to the limbs caused by traffic accidents or heavy machinery, treatment for skin and soft-tissue malignancies, reconstructive surgery following oncological resection, and management of congenital conditions.
While surgical approach and technique are of course critically important, I came to appreciate strongly that giving full consideration to each patient’s medical background, family circumstances, and work situation leads to better outcomes overall.
My Approach to Treatment
I reflect every day on how well I have been able to meet the expectations of patients who carve time out of their busy schedules to visit us.
I want to respond to those who come in with pain, swelling, and urgent concerns, and for those who prefer to consider their options after receiving a proposed treatment plan, I aim to provide the information they need to make an informed decision. Treatment approaches vary depending on the condition, and the recommendations I make are shaped by what matters most to each individual patient. During your consultation, please feel free to tell me openly what is troubling you. I look forward to helping you.
